Highlights of the 387th Meeting of Classis Hudson:
Classis Hudson met on March 1-2, 2010 at the Cedar Hill CRC in Wyckoff, NJ. The meeting began on Monday evening with a time of worship led by Rev. Norman Brown and the worship leaders from the Restore contemporary service. The meditation reminded delegates of the church’s call to be a place of teaching, fellowship, worship, and service in the name of Jesus Christ. Delegates gathered in groups to pray for church planting clusters in Philadelphia and New York, for student and social justice ministries, and for the congregations of our two classes.
Classis spent a good deal of time discussing its relationship to the various emerging churches in Classis Hudson and Hackensack. It asked its ministries team, Mid-Atlantic Ministries, to report back ways that the organizational procedures can be made more clear.
Revs. Norm Brown and Albert Sideco were appointed as Classis Hudson’s delegates to Synod 2010, along with Elders Pete Hagedoorn and Steve Eichhorn.
Delegates were encouraged to take advantage of a number of different seminars in the areas of small groups, youth ministry, community development, and stewardship.
Rev. Ken Bieber closed with prayer.
