Agenda for fall classis meeting

Classis Hudson will meet in regular session on Monday and Tuesday, September 17-18, at Restore Church in North Haledon.  The agenda can be found here.  In keeping with an annual custom, part of the meeting will be held jointly with delegates from Classis Hackensack to receive reports from denominational representatives and discuss matters where our ministries overlap.One important part of this meeting will be a discussion with Rev. Howard Vanderwell, a representative of the CRC's Faith Formation Committee, who will be addressing the topic "Making Adjustments for a New Culture of Faith Formation in the CRC."  All interested CRC members are encouraged to attend the Monday evening session for a discussion of this important subject.

NECT events

Northeast Community Transformation, the diaconal agency of Classes Hudson and Hackensack, invites interested church members and leaders to attend their spring events:1) An immigration forum, to be held from 9:30-noon on Saturday, May 19, at the Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prospect Park.  Leading immigration attorney and NECT partner David Nachman of Nachman, Phulwani, Zimovcak (NPZ) Law Group, P.C. will be on hand to offer assistance with specific questions or immigration/naturalization cases.2) NECT's annual picnic, to be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon from 1-4 pm on June 9.  This picnic provides an opportunity to hear about the work the NECT and its partners are doing in sharing God’s transforming mercy, justice and peace with their communities.  Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children under 13, and free for kids under 5 and can be purchased here.For more information on either event, please contact NECT.

Spring clergy day at the Christian Health Care Center

The Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff will be holding a Clergy Day event on Wednesday, May 9, from 8:30-1:15.  The topic is “Pastoring in the Eye of the Storm – Centering Your Ministry in an Overwhelming World.”  Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish, adjunct professor at Pittsburgh Seminary, will be the speaker for the day.  For more information or to register, please see the flyer.

Rev. Ken Bieber presentation to the Evangelical Missiologlical Society

Rev. Ken Bieber, pastor of Christ Community CRC in East Islip, NY will be giving a presentation to the Northeast Regional Conference of the Evangelical Missiological Society on Saturday, March 17.  His paper, entitled "Assessing the Global City," addresses the mission of the church against the backdrop of global urbanization.  His talk is part of a day-long conference in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Roland Allen's publication: Missionary Methods: Saint Paul's or Ours?  The conference is being held at the First Baptist Church of Flushing, NY.  For conference information and registration, click here.
