New City Kids Church in Jersey City offers an amazingly practical training event on May 20-21 for teens and adults involved in children's ministry, community outreach, and teen leadership development. Classis Hudson's diaconal ministry, Northeast Community Trasnformation, will be hosting a spring barbeque at Covenant CRC in North Haledon, on Saturday, May 21 from 12-3 pm. This event will highlight a number of the ministry partnerships that CRCs in our area have been developing, and provide an opportunity for those interested in community development ministry to fellowship and celebrate the work God is doing through the churches. GEMS Girls Clubs, a ministry in many local Christian Reformed churches, will be sponsoring an event specifically for mothers and tween girls on Saturday, May 7 from 1:00-4:15 pm. This event is designed to open dialogue between mothers and daughters about "The Beauty of Believing," and participants will be sent home with resources to continue the conversation. At its March 2011 meeting, Classis Hudson agreed to meet a third time each year. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, May 12 at the Christian Health Care Center, beginning at 7pm. Agenda items should be submitted to the Stated Clerk by April 14, 2011.
