Classis Hudson will meet on Monday and Tuesday, September 16-17, at the Cedar Hill CRC in Wyckoff. As has been the custom, part of this meeting will be held jointly with Classis Hackensack, the other regional assembly of the Christian Reformed Church in our area. The session will begin on Monday evening at 7pm with a discussion of the ways in which our churches are engaging youth and young adults, and with a time of worship. Tuesday morning is a time of reviewing the work of denominational ministries, and the Tuesday afternoon session concentrates on classis business. Representatives of the CRC's Salaam Project, a collaborative effort of several CRC agencies which focus on training individuals and congregations for outreach to Muslims, call attention to a conference to be held October 16-19, 2013 in Lexington, Massachusetts. The conference is sponsored by the Coalition of Ministries to Muslims in North America, and aims to engage the church with a wealth of knowledge and insight from missionary scholars and practitioners from around the world. Northeast Community Transformation, the diaconal arm of Classes Hudson and Hackensack, will be holding a luncheon on Saturday June 8 from 12-2pm at Unity CRC: 339 N. 11th St., Prospect Park to celebrate the end of another semester of ESL training.The program will consist of awarding the ESL students with certificates followed by a discussion with our partner Immigration attorney David Nachman on “2013 Immigration Reform Update: Is it really going to happen?” Please invite those who have a desire to see justice done for our immigrant neighbors!
