World Renew (formerly CRWRC), in conjunction with the council of Faith Community CRC in Wyckoff, invites all friends of CRWRC to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that organization at a special event to be held at Faith Church (530 Sicomac Ave, Wyckoff) on Sunday, November 4. There will be a time of fellowship, ice cream, and global desserts to be held in the Barn beginning at 5pm, with a worship service to follow at 6 pm. Mr. Andy Ryskamp, the director of World Renew, will be speaking and showing some videos celebrating what God has done.Children are encouraged to come with their families to this celebration. We anticipate a dynamic time of worship, prayer, reflection and looking ahead to what the Lord has done and will be doing through CRWRC.
The Regional Team of Christian Reformed Home Missions is hosting a workshop on November 14-15, 2012, at New Song Community Church in New York City. This informative and mutually beneficial workshop will help us intentionally learn from one another how to develop leaders locally, ensuring that current and future leaders of the church are identified, empowered, and nurtured. On Thursday, we will hear from respected colleagues who will present case studies about this subject each in their own unique context. We will also have a panel of young pastors share how internships in churches have helped them to grow and develop in their passion for the lost. The Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ invites local clergy members to participate in the next Pastoral Colloquium. These events are are designed to offer topics in a presentation/discussion format. The program is an hour and a half in length, requiring a shorter commitment of time than Clergy Days. Northeast Community Transformation, the diaconal agency of Classes Hudson and Hackensack, invites interested church members and leaders to attend their spring events:1) An immigration forum, to be held from 9:30-noon on Saturday, May 19, at the Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prospect Park. Leading immigration attorney and NECT partner David Nachman of Nachman, Phulwani, Zimovcak (NPZ) Law Group, P.C. will be on hand to offer assistance with specific questions or immigration/naturalization cases.2) NECT's annual picnic, to be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon from 1-4 pm on June 9. This picnic provides an opportunity to hear about the work the NECT and its partners are doing in sharing God’s transforming mercy, justice and peace with their communities. Rev. Ken Bieber, pastor of Christ Community CRC in East Islip, NY will be giving a presentation to the Northeast Regional Conference of the Evangelical Missiological Society on Saturday, March 17. His paper, entitled "Assessing the Global City," addresses the mission of the church against the backdrop of global urbanization. His talk is part of a day-long conference in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Roland Allen's publication: Missionary Methods: Saint Paul's or Ours?
